I came across this wonderful ornament tutorial yesterday and HAD to give it a try.  I'm so glad we did.

I love the simplicity of the solid white star that now graces our dining room chandelier, and also adore the folk art feel of some of the funky painted ornaments.

The older kids (ages 9 and up) were able to do all of the work, relatively unsupervised.  They really enjoyed seeing how the forms they chose looked when all was said and done (the star above was made by wrapping string around glue bottles) and were appropriately amazed by the feel and firmness of the string after the glue dried.

I think these would be terrific tied to a gift tag, an extra little gift for the tree.
