In addition to the Dial Miracle Oil Body Wash I reviewed recently, Dial has also introduced new Miracle Oil Hand Soap infused with Marula Oil. As much as I like the body wash, I was super excited to get to try the hand soap and I was not disappointed.

Once or twice I've mentioned my happy infatuation with Purex Crystals and how I like to use it in every wash load. I love, love, love the long lasting fresh scent the Purex Crystals provide.

Stinky socks ... no problem, they come out of the wash smelling better than new. Towels left on the floor smell fresh and clean after washing, instead of having a mildew odor. T-shirts in a drawer for weeks smell wonderful.

ScentSplash is new to the market, becoming available April of 2015. This is a liquid in-wash fragrance booster, different than the previous shake-in crystals. Three scents are available; Fresh Spring Waters, Fresh Lavender Blossom, and Fresh Mountain Breeze.

I was given the Fresh Spring Waters scent to try. For the first load I used about half a cap full, probably about 3 tablespoons worth, in a full load of laundry. That, for me, turned out to be way too much. The scent was a little flowerier than I'm comfortable with and was very strong. For the next load I used just a tablespoon or so of the product. Perfection. The clean laundry smells great, is a much more comfortable amount of scent, and using less took the scent from "flowery" to clean and refreshing. Using such a small amount means this a bottle of this will go a very long way.

It's very easy when folding the laundry to tell which items were washed with the liquid crystals. Even with a fabric softener sheet in the dryer, the clothes washed with the crystals smell fresher and cleaner.

Dial is introducing a new hand soap - Boutique Collection Sugar Cane Husk Scrub. The soap is very luxurious, with gentle micro-scrubbers built into the formula, leaving hands and skin clean and healthy. Gentle conditioners moisturize skin and visibly improve dryness. As much as we do, and should, wash our hands this is wonderful news.

With a calming, sugar cane inspired scent this soap is terrific for the entire family, while still feeling like a luxurious indulgence.


I happen to know, based on personal experience and information I've gathered, that boys and men are generally not notorious hand washers. Less than 80% of men wash their hands regularly without being reminded and, in this house, at least 50% of the boys have to be reminded all the time. Well, I'm determined to have my sons be a part of the all-the-time hand washing group! This hand soap, with it's micro-scrubbers, cleans deeply, making it easy for the boys to get the nooks and crannies of their hands clean and the pump bottle is so easy to use there are no excuses for not washing. The hope is that a soap as convenient and effective as this will help enforce that washing habit.

The kids and I went camping recently. Tent camping. I took one picture. This is it:


Yes, that's a freaking rattlesnake. I don't like snakes. At all. There are six kinds of poisonous snakes in Florida and this guy is one of them. What. The. Heck. And we saw him as we were pulling into camp, not as we were leaving (which would have felt much better). And we were tent camping. Not cool. Not cool at all.

I'm very happy and relieved to say that we did not see him or his friends the rest of the weekend and had a great time camping. The kids played from sun-up to sun-down and got happily filthy. Very filthy. They came home covered in dirt and dust reeking a combination of bug spray, dirt, sweat, and campfire. After a strict command of, "Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Get in the shower immediately." I set out to do the laundry, much of which was equally as stinky and dirty.

Back to my laundry ... Yes, the Purex Crystals, along with Purex detergent, got rid of the camping odors. Because of the Purex Crystals the laundry came out smelling terrific, even the shoes that got washed smelled good.

Wednesday morning I went to do a load of laundry and quickly realized the load I'd put in on Monday night was still in there, having not yet made it to the dryer. That load needed to be rewashed.

At that exact moment, as I was about to put another round of detergent in and start the washer, the kids yelled up the stairs that I had a package in the mail. In the package was a container of Purex Crystals Limited Edition Fabulously Fresh. Talk about perfect timing!

The Purex Crystals are a laundry freshener that goes straight into the washer with the detergent. The top of the bottle is a measuring cap for perfect portion control. The in-wash fragrance boost crystals smell wonderful and sure did help with that first load of laundry, which smelled very nice and fresh when I took it out of the washer and had no residual odor.



That same evening my son decided that he didn't want to hand wash the dinner dishes so he took it upon himself to remove our old dishwasher and install a new one that had arrived the day before (awesome kid!). As he unhooked the old dishwasher water gushed out onto the floor. Ian used every towel he could find to soak up the water and then, because he was really focused on the dishwasher, tossed all those towels into a pile on the lanai. They came out smelling wonderfully.

I've since added it to every load of laundry I've done and have been very pleased with the results.


In the past when I've made homemade laundry detergent I've added a bottle of the crystals to the concoction (equal parts Borax and washing soda, with some Fells-Naptha soap shredded in) and it really adds a nice scent to the laundry soap, which is otherwise pretty unscented. I really think this Fabulously Fresh formula would be great for this, as it's meant to keep clothes smelling fresh for weeks and is safe for all loads.

I was recently asked to try Dial Vitamin Boost Amazing B Lotion Infused Body Wash.

I'm in love. It smells great, without being the least bit perfumish - more of a nice, gentle subtle Kiwi smell. It feels great going on and only a very small amount is needed (one bottle will go a long way). The body wash is lotion infused and the Vitamin B helps draw in hydrating moisture, leaving my skin feeling healthy, soft, and smooth.

One evening I added a tablespoon or so to running water in the bath. It smelled good and made the best big, plentiful bubbles that lasted throughout my relaxing bath (I love a bubble bath where all the yummy bubbles linger while I lounge). Decadence.
