While I absolutely love baby bibs with fun prints and designs, sometimes I really love my baby's outfit more and want to show that off. I needed simpler "coordinate with everything" bibs for him ... so I made some. And they're now some of my favorites for him.

So I made more, because of course I want to share. :)  White eyelet, green gingham, black gingham, tan linen, and blue linen can all be found at JudeHarbor.com and in the Etsy shop.

I had so much fun designing and appliqueing this quilt.

I had many already made blocks for Lori Holt's Bee In My Bonnet Granny's Garden Sew Along Quilt and then had a handful of the background circles all ready to be used. I opted to make a quilt with the Granny's Garden blocks and then a similar, but more masculine, second quilt.  The quilt with the Granny's Garden blocks was claimed by my sister immediately, so much so that I didn't have time to get many pictures of it! I now introduce the more masculine version of this quilt, still using Lori Holt fabrics but differently.

Instead of following the same applique technique in the first quilt I did raw edge blanket stitch applique on this one. The eyes of the whale and fish are circles of Minky, and the mast of one of the boats is a satin ribbon.

The backside is pieced from six fat quarters.

You'll find this quilt in the Jude Harbor Etsy shop.

A sweet whole cloth quilt with gentle wavy quilting (a favorite go-to of mine).

I picture this in a lakeside cottage or summer home, or a home that lends itself to that light and airy summer vibe.  Maybe a wall hanging in a casual living room or child's room. Or a floor mat for baby. Or ... ?

It's in the Jude Harbor Etsy shop waiting for a new home.

It has been far too long, but I've finally found time to make some quilts. And I dusted off the long arm quilter for some of them. I'm feeling very satisfied with myself, and can't wait to make more, more, more.

Here's the first of the finished quilts -

It can be found in the Jude Harbor Etsy shop here.

Simple pattern, but taken up a notch by turning the blocks on-point.

Many of the fabrics come from Lori Holt collections, some others I'm not as sure of the origins. My mother had a friend who could no longer sew and asked if I wanted some of her fabrics. Um, YES! And that's how I inhered two file boxes jam packed with mostly wonderful Lori Holt fabrics (and a few others being used for upcoming projects). I've had so much fun with these new fabrics (and don't get me started on the fabrics I picked up at some great prices at Joann over the last month - I've had to add many, many long shelves to the sewing room to accommodate that haul).

In other, even more wonderful news, I got a call at the beginning of December asking if I'd care for a newborn baby when he got out of the NICU. Um, YES, yes, yes! He's been with us for almost six months now and is a joy. We're head over heals in love with him and are very blessed to have him in our company.

Jude Harbor applique dinosaur baby quilt

Recently some decadent dinosaur flannel fabric magically appeared on my doorstep, along with a whole bunch of other fabric from Ziggie Lane Fabric. <- she has great sales, worth checking out and then I won't be alone in my fabric-aholic-ness.

Back to the dino fabric. I had to make quilt from it right away.

Handcrafted stegasaurus applique baby quilt with flannel dinosaur back and hand sewn binding

I opted to use the yummy dino flannel as the backside and created six appliqued dinosaurs for the front, on a white Kona cotton background.

Each dino is appliqued to the Kona cotton with a blanket stitch.

The quilt is quilted with lots of straight lines 1" apart and sewn on the diagonal. I also quilted around each dinosaur.

The binding is the yummy coral / sherbet print.

After sewing the top I shared a picture of it on my personal Facebook page and immediately sold the quilt to one of my favorite mamas to my most favorite eight month old (currently, by choice, my one and only daycare baby).

There is a second quilt in the works, very similar to this one, which should be finished in the next few weeks.

Liberty high summer and winter garden cotton bow ties

It feels like for-e-ver since a new bow tie line was introduced (fact: it has been forever, since before Covid was on our radar), and I'm extra super excited to introduce you to our seven print Liberty of London cotton bow tie collection.

Because I'm Me floral bow ties for men

These prints were culled from Liberty of London's Winter Flower Show and High Summer Flower Show lines, in 100% woven cottons.

I'm so in love with these prints! I can't even begin to express how pretty and fun and versatile each of them are. They coordinate so well with a black tuxedo or a trendy blue suit coat, and stand very well on their own with a coordinating shirt (and maybe add solid suspenders?).

Right now these prints are available in men's sizes only, and there are only eight bow ties in each print. If you need a child size or more than eight reach out to me and I'll see what I can do.

These ties are available while they last in the Because I'm Me etsy shop or through Jude Harbor's shop.

While moving the sewing studio to another room (out of my bedroom!) I found this sweet quilt, sadly misplaced in the wrong box.

Lucky for him, he's now available in the Jude Harbor shop and looking for a new home with someone who will pay for better attention to him than I did. (Sorry, turtle!)

The turtle is crafted from a fun blue leaf print that will fray a bit with washing to give him a more textural look and feel, and a super soft white fabric for his non-shell parts.

The rest of the quilt is a mix of woven cottons and flannel, super soft and comfy!

The quilt measures 42" by 48" and the backside is a mottled blue print with bits of the front fabrics.

Well, had to have a boys personalized bodysuit to match the glittery girls!

These bodysuits are super comfy and soft, making them a favorite of mine. But that pocket had me stumped ... until I thought of having the hearts coming out of it. Now I can't imagine not having it!

Each onesie features a boys name and first initial, as well as those wonderful sweet hearts, and they're available in navy blue with white print, or gray with navy blue print.

Available in our Etsy shop here.

First of all, I hope you like the new look of this site! My oldest son took an hour or two and made it happen (it would have taken me a few days and a lot of tears), and I love it.

Second, we've added some baby things to the Jude Harbor shop, both the stand-alone shop and Etsy.

The bibs may look familiar, we sold the same pattern years ago. I used the bibs in my daycare day after day, meal after meal, and they are created to last! Some of them have lasted through 11+ years of constant use and still look great. They truly fit kiddos from about 6 months to 3+ years (spaghetti days ... everyone wore a bib).

The bandana bibs were also used in the daycare for the littlest droolers. So practical and stylish at the same time.

Actually, now that I think of it, the teethers were used in the daycare too. Not only are they multi-textured but they also have those big grab-able ears ... easy for babies to grip onto.

Sets are also available, and they make great baby shower or new baby gifts!

Again, these great finds are available at Jude Harbor - both Etsy and at judeharbor.com

I'm super excited to tell you that we'll soon be offering personalization of these baby items! I'll keep you posted!

Oh, and there are quilts in the works to coordinate with some of the prints I've used for the baby items.

What other baby items would you like to see in our shop? I'd love to hear your ideas!

This quilt ... such a sweet little one for baby boy. So many fun animals to admire and dream about!

I came across the Moda Safari Life charm pack and knew it was meant to be a baby quilt (because ... isn't everything?).

I mixed the charm squares with a coordinating gold faux-linen print from Connecting Threads to create this pattern.  The quilting is done with straight lines on the diagonal in gold thread, and the backing fabric is another Connecting Threads print that carried the "safari" theme well.

It's available in the Jude Harbor shop.

And in other news ... my "baby" turned 12 today! Seems like just yesterday he was a little thing laying on my quilts ... now he's my #1 quilt holder for pictures. Time sure does fly!

Last weekend I got bit by the quilt making bug. Out of nowhere I wanted to make a quilt. Not just any quilt - an elephant quilt. Specifically, an elephant holding a balloon quilt, with lots of white space around the elephant and the balloon.

I dug into my scrap bins and found all the blues and greens I could and the elephant was born. He's made of patchwork squares and then appliqued onto the white background. After putting the front, back, and batting together I stitched his balloon for him (he was very happy about this) and added some more detail to him.

The white portions of the quilt are machine tacked so the focus is on Mr. Elephant, not the stitching.

The binding - it's been so long since I made a quilt I had to google the width of the binding - is a gentle blue dot print. The back of the quilt is a yummy gray and white chevron print.

He's a very happy elephant, and ready for a new home and can be found in the Jude Harbor shop here. I'm super tempted to keep him and have a wall in the daycare that'd be perfect for him, but I've already got another quilt idea in mind for that wall.

And let me just say that fabric stores are dangerous! I went to three and am now stocked up on fabric and ideas. Be warned, there are more quilts to come.
