Of flowers and feathers

A little bit of a desert feel, just for fun. And these prints ... so good!

Crafted from a charm pack (5" squares of a variety of prints, usually 42 squares per charm pack) of Moda's Desert Song by Mara Penny and white Kona cotton the quilt offers a modern take on patchwork. Each of the white squares are the same measurement, but the prints and colored solids vary from 1/2" to 4/5", creating a unique pattern and feel.

The backing fabric is an amazing feather print that I'm crazy about.

The binding fabric is a dotty coral, and the quilting is done in a leafy pattern from Urban Elementz (urbanelementz.com).

The baby ... I have not reopened my daycare, but am watching a little one a few days a week, a little one with the most gorgeous eyes, best smile, and most amazing personality ... he definitely brightens our days.
