A Few Ways To Extend Your Online Shopping Dollars

Below are a few sites that'll give you points when you shop through them.  There are also other ways to earn points through the sites that are quick and painless.  Why bother?  Well, enough points equals gift cards or cash (depends on the site) ... great gifts for others or for yourself.

Ebates

UPromise will turn a little percentage of your purchases into college savings (I signed up for this one years ago and it never worked for me, so YMMV).

Swagbucks is similar, but you also earn money through searches, contests, and other what-not.

And then there's my favorite Groupon . Not really in the same catagory as the other links, but a great source for local "in real life" deals as well as internet deals. So far I've purchased, locally at unbeatable prices, a photo session, football game tickets, and ballet tickets.

I figure if I'm going to shop online I might as well get the very best bang for my buck that I can, and being able to earn a gift certificate that I can then give as a holiday gift is one smart plan (in my humble opinion).

Last little money saving note before I head off to get a good nights sleep and not get up at 3 am for Black Friday shopping (more power to ya) ... before buying anything at any website - or at a brick and mortar store - Google (or some other search engine) the business name and "coupon code" or "promo code", I usually add the year to my search to at least narrow down the results.  Might as well check and see if there's a deal out there you can use!

** I do get a referral bonus if you join Swagbucks and Groupon ... I couldn't find a referral link anywhere on the MyPoints site and I've never used Ebates.
