Made for Cassie's recent birthday.  The child is 17.  And in a few weeks we're going to look at colleges.  What the heck is that about? 

She's an awesome 17 year old, I couldn't ask for more and I am incredibly proud of everything she has done thus far in her life.

Cassie picked the fabrics for this.  I think she did a terrific job.  All I did was the sewing.

I modified the "pleated beauty bag" pattern from Bend the Rules Sewing by Amy Karol.  I've made the bag before here and here (ahem dear, I haven't seen this bag in ages ... what happened to it?).

This time around I didn't follow any directions or measurements, just kind of "winged it".  I gathered the upper edges of the lining, rather than pleating them. 

She liked this one.  I couldn't even take pictures before she'd gotten her stuff in it and was walking out the door.  I take that as a good sign.
