Last night I entertained myself for ages playing with Picnik and editing the main photo from the Girls Crayon Quilt.

I've used picnik before to add borders, add writing to pictures, create collages, make a file smaller, and to, well, just play.

  

I use it also to create headers for etsy and blogger.

Picnik is free for basic photo editing.  To do extra fun stuff costs $24.95 a year, but there's so much that can be done for free that I've never really considered upgrading.
