I'm not sure how I ended up making this quilt top! It is quite different from anything I've done before, at least as far as style, but I think that's a good thing.

Because this isn't a baby quilt, at least I don't really see it as one, I made it large enough to make a good sized lap quilt. It will end up being one of the largest quilts I've made so far.

The bordered squares measure about 10", the sashing is about 2.5" and the borders add another few inches in each direction.

The green fabric is a flannel. The gold is a home decorating weight fabric with tea cups and pots, and the blue is a pretty floral with a touch of lilac.

I can easily see this gentle quilt gracing a living room sofa or rocking chair.

  1. I made a quilt for a Christening for a baby (the quilt had tea cups and tea on it) and I really liked this poem. So I put it into the quilt label.

Time for you and time for me,
And time yet for a hundred indecisions,
And for a hundred visions and revisions,
Before the taking of a toast and tea."
    T.S. Eliot

My good wishes to you and yours. Happy baby, and good hopes for you and your hubby.
