Kelly's Anniversary Quilt
This quilt was a commissioned piece, for a good friend of mine. Her in-laws recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and the quilt is a gift for them.
From what I understand most of their children and grandchildren made a square ... many contain memories or personal notes to the couple ... and all of them are incredible. The remaining squares were filled with pictures from a recent anniversary celebration that they took all their kids/grandkids on. The two blank squares still need images added to them.
I had so much fun putting this together. I couldn't pry myself away from the wonderful drawings and words on the squares!
The squares are about 9" each. The backing fabric is a tealish green-blue. I hesitantly used a floral for the binding ... hoping to not alienate the husband ... but it pulled the pretty colors from the squares so nicely that I couldn't not use it.
Happy Anniversary to the wonderful couple and thank you Kelly for allowing me to do this quilt for you!

ReplyDeleteHi - beautiful quilt. I have a question for you. Can you tell me how many blocks were in that quilt. I am making a quilt for a couple who have taught Sunday School for 41 years and this is exactly how I am doing it - do you know what they used for drawing on the blocks? any information would be greatly appreciated. I have to have everything done by May and with the holidays approaching I'm kind of nervous! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! Have a great day!
