DSC04993Quilt #2. Model #2 as well. I can't say enough about how much fun the kids and I had taking these pictures. But isn't it always fun to run and roll in the grass?

This quilt is again crib or lap sized. It is made largely from April Cornell 5" squares. I purchased four of the charm packs ages ago, knowing what I'd do with them but waiting for a new sewing machine, and have finally used some of them! I've got another quilt similar to this, but slightly DSC05005feminine, that I'll show in the next few days, and I've got one charm pack left. I love the simplicity of these solids, plaids, and stripes and the fabrics feel great too ... and the colors are so crisp and classic. I mixed in quite a few fabric squares from my stash and really enjoyed seeing how well the old and the new worked together.

The binding is the polka-dot fabric left over from this library/diaper bag, that just happened to be a great match. The DSC05012backside is a soft woven bright yellow fabric. The quilting is done "in the ditch" with a zig-zag stitch (so not really in the ditch, because of the zig-zag, but it makes sense, doesn't it?), so it'll get nice and puckery-looking when washed.
