Happy Sunday!

These bags are for the upcoming "maybe" craft show next month. Still a maybe, but working on it.

Part of the maybe stems from the fact that this is getting exhausting. I love sewing, and I absolutely love these bags, but it's hard to find the free time and the quantity needed for a show feels huge right now. I'm not sure today if I have the stamina to get enough product completed in time. I think it may be time to make a quilt or two ... a change of scenery might be just what I need.oct07 011

In the meantime, while I debate my sewing direction, here are the handbags. I started with this palate and changed at least 50% of it by the time I got started.

These bags are more concave at the top than the last set, giving them a different style. It was fun to do it that way and I love the outcome, but it took a good while to figure out how to make a template (I'm no math whiz ... I ended up tying a string to a pencil and drawing a semi-circle that way ... not scientific - I tried that and got nowhere - but my way worked).

The fabric that started it all is the brown floral corduroy, which I absolutely love. It's so bright and cheerful.

There were just plain fun. I love the bright colors and fun ribbons and birds.

My model, C., found something to wear today and was very happy to help out with the photos. I think she did a wondeful job. She was also very helpful with set-up ideas ... I love having the input of a stylish teenager!

Here are all the bags (except one ... I guess it was being shy during photo time) individually:

  3. Jody, they're gorgeous! I particularly love the one with the blue bird on.

How many hours does it take you to make that many - do you do each one individually, or do you do all your pattern cutting, then all your sewing etc?

    Hugely impressed. x
