A Bit of Craft

I came across these pictures in the old camera, a small tote and bunny, using the Wee Wonderfuls pattern, I made for my niece, and a quilt I made for my nephew.

The bunny fabric and the lining of the tote are from a really cool vintage pillowcase I found at the Salvation Army one day. I was so excited by this find until I cut into it and found the Tommy Hilfiger tag ... it wasn't old, just retro ... still cool, just not as cool as I'd thought. The front of the bunny is made from an infant sleeper, it's so soft and velvety! The flower is hand-embroidered to the bunny.

The quilt is made from squares I'd cut when C and I were born, and the back is red flannel. It's machine quilted.

Isn't my ironing board lovely? I can't imagine why I took the pictures on top of that.

My nephew was born in December and I am finally going to meet him this weekend! My brother and his family will be down for a visit and we are lucky enough to have them stay with us Friday night. The kids are so excited to see (and meet) their cousins. It should be a great weekend for all of us.

Baby Lulu Bag

The fabric for this bag is a Baby Lulu dress that I got from Malissa at her store, PJ's Patch. The dress had two orange paint stains on it so it was on the dollar rack. I love Baby Lulu, almost as much as I love Lilly Pulitzer, and M's nickname is Mimi Lulu because she wore so much Baby Lulu when she was little (it all came from Ditto Kiddo ... I didn't pay full price for any of it!), so I knew I wasn't going to pass this dress up. And so that bag above is what I made from the dress. I used most of the bodice for the pocket but still have quite a bit of the skirt fabric left. The lining is a simple golden fabric. The button is from a collection of buttons I found while antique shopping in Arcadia. It was so fun to finally use one of them!

This bag will be posted at my shop within the next day or two.
